Revlon Amazingness!

Hello friends!
I have been so so so impressed with Revlon's makeup line recently. Everything i've tried has been amazing! So, in this post I will be sharing my absolute favorite Revlon products so far.

First thing I want to write about is the ColorStay liquid foundation. I love this foundation! I was using MAC's Pro Longwear foundation & it worked well BUT if I can get the same results for a significantly cheaper price I will choose the cheaper product! It costs around $9. This foundation lasts all day, its lightweight and they have so many colors that you will have no problem finding the right shade for you. Its buildable. It starts as medium coverage, for heavier coverage you can apply more layers til your hearts content.

Second, Colorstay liquid eyeliner pen. It costs about $4. I don't need to set it, it doesn't transfer to my lid. The felt tip does not get bent & worn out easily. It definitely stays all day but is easy to remove.

Third, Colorstay mechanical eyeliner. It costs about $4. I bought the black eyeliner & there is soooo much product. It doesn't smear, goes on smoothly, and lasts throughout the day.

I recommend checking out your local drugstore & picking up these products. They're affordable & great quality. Enjoy!

DIY Pineapple face mask!

Dry, dull, patchy skin? This mask will leave your skin smooth, refreshed & glowing! It'll smell pretty delicious too!

So why pineapple? Pineapple not only tastes great in a fruity cocktail, it also keeps your skin beautiful! Pineapple contains enzymes that make skin elastic, improve skin hydration, and remove damaged and dead cells. Thus, it helps us achieve a clear and glowing complexion. The enzymes in pineapples also fight free-radical damage and can reduce age spots and fine lines.

Ingredients:
2/3 c. Pineapple ch drained (Canned is fine)
1/4 c. Olive oil (or you can use almond, advocado or soy oil)
1/4 c. Fresh parsley, chopped & a few sprigs of mint, chopped.

Instructions:
Mix pineapple & oil in a blender until almost smooth. Add parsley and mint; pulse, making sure NOT to liquify the ingredients. Your DONE!

Application:
Apply to your face using your fingers, or a face brush if you prefer. Let it sit for 15 then rinse to remove.

Storage:
You can store the leftover mask in a airtight jar & refrigerate. It should last 4-5 days.

Ingredients For Perfect Pin Up Makeup

 Hello ladies!
I've done quite a few pin up photoshoots in the past year & realized how much ladies love that look. Its very classic & very simple. You also don't need much for a great pin up look; winged eyeliner, mascara, red lips and defined brows.
Here's some of my favorite products to create this gorgeous look.

Face:
I use concealer for any blemishes or dark circles around the eyes. My favorite concealer is Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer. I then apply medium to heavy coverage foundation for a flawless look. I use Revlon ColorStay foundation which is about $8 at your local drugstore. I set it all with MAC Studio Fix pressed powder.

Eyes:

I love winged eyeliner! My favorite eyeliner to acheive the PERFECT winged eyeliner is MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack. It goes on smooth and dries matte. Pin up models always have very defined brows. I like to use Smashbox Brow Tech Trio. It comes with 2 powders, one lighter than the other for the inner corner of your brow to blend & wax to keep all your brow hairs in place. The models eyeshadow is usually very light and neutral. I like to use a light, skin tone color all over the lip and lightly define the crease with a slightly darker color. Foxy & Tease from the Naked2 pallete are beautifull examples of colors I would use.

Lips:

Of course, for lips you would use a gorgeous red color. I love love love Russian Red by MAC. Its a blue red and looks amazing on almost ANY skin tone!

ELF Dupe & Product Reviews!

Hello friends!

Let me just start off by saying how sorry I am for being so M.I.A (missing in action). Now, for the awesome part of this blog....

I found a awesome produtcs by ELF!

Elf is a fairly popular makeup line. Its very basic, nothing like MAC or anything, but every once in a while they'll come out with a products that absolutely AMAZING! You can find them in Ross, drugstores, Kmart, Target, etc. I usually buy them online because they always have awesome sales on their site. My last purchase from them I got everything 50% off! Their prices range from $1-$200. The higher priced items are usually their makeup artist kits. Everything I purchased in this last order was under $6 :)

So, to get to the point of this blog...

I have been using MUFE's High Definition Powder, which costs about $40 for the full sized product. I picked up the ELF High Definition powder and its the same exact thing! The main ingredients are the same, similar texture, same result... the only difference is the price! ELF's HD powder is only $6!

I also purchased the Makeup Lock & Seal, which is AMAZING! I tested it with eyeliner, lipstick and powder eyeshadow. It worked the best with the powder eyeshadow. 

I applied eyeliner to my hand and applied the L&S over it, let it dry and the eyeliner cracked and wiped right off. I then applied lip liner & lipstick to my hand and applied the L&S and it stayed for a while but faded eventually. Then I took some eyeshadow, mixed with with a few drops of the L&S and it lasted ALL day until I washed it off. 

I bought a few more items and I filmed a haul that I will insert below.

Been M.I.A for way too long!

Hair Myths!

Myth: Hair gets used to a product.

False. But there are other reasons you may need to change your shampoo, conditioner, or styling products--such as pregnancy, a change in seasons, or getting a new cut or color, says Gerard Kierans, owner of Easel Hair Studio in Georgetown.

Myth: Rinse your hair in cold water to prevent frizz.

False. "The only thing you can get from rinsing your hair in cold water is a chill," says Kierans. Cold water does make the hair cuticle contract for a second, but as soon as your body temperature returns to normal, so will your hair. While this may prevent a little frizz, the benefit may not be worth it.

Myth: Home cocktails with vodka, mayonnaise, or beer are great for hair.

False. There might be some ingredient in vodka, mayonnaise, or beer that's great for hair, but today's products use the best of those ingredients without the smell, funny texture, or hassle. "If there's any truth to it, you know the product people have researched it," says Kierans. "Put mayonnaise on your sandwich and something else in your hair."

Myth: Condition just the bottom part of your hair to avoid buildup.

False. "You're also conditioning your scalp," says Renee Burgess, a stylist with Eclips in McLean. "Just like your hands can get dry, your scalp can get dry." And conditioning hair from top to bottom brings the pH level back to normal and closes down the cuticle, making hair softer and shinier.

Myth: Baldness comes from yourmaternal grandfather.

False. It's genetic--period--and can come from either your mother or your father, says Arlington dermatologist Michelle Rivera. Genetics also determines whether it's male or female pattern hair loss.

Myth: Lemon juice lightens hairsafely and naturally.

False. Lemon juice will lighten hair, but it's drying and damaging. "You also have no control over how much or how little the hair lightens," says Kierans. "It's possible you can get blotchy color."

Myth: Just like skin, hair needs sunscreen.

True. "But don't just put sunscreen in your hair," says Burgess, who suggests using a hair product with sunscreen init. She recommends Grund Smooth, a leave-in conditioner with sunscreen and a chlorine blocker.

Myth: Baby powder acts like a dry shampoo.

True. Baby powder soaks up oil in your scalp, says Scott Palmer, owner of Lehman LaRue on Kent Island, Maryland. Don't want the white tinge of powder in your hair? Try one of the colored hair powders like the line from Bumble & Bumble.
